The last 50s coffee house in Earls Court with a proud history as a low temperature centre of courtesy, peace and artistic energy The Troubador was recently announced as Les Routiers UK award winner for best Cafe (2009).
Since 1954, the famous Troubadour Club has been a hotbed of emerging talent and a leading light in excellent musicianship and live music. From its early incarnation as a folk venue, and counter-culture den of creativity, The Troubadour Club has remained at the forefront of interesting, original music and spoken word events with a great reputation for originality and atmosphere. Although now twice its original size, The Troubadour Club remains true to its roots as the private cellar beneath the café and is one of the most exciting small music venues in town.
They previous line ups are impressive with musicians such as Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, Elvis Costello and more recently Jamie T, Jack Penate, The Dead 60s, Paulo Nutini, Morcheeba having played there.

2 minutes walk from West Brompton tube (which is on the Wimbledon branch of the District Line and is also an overground station) or 4 minutes from Earls Court, which is very easy to get to on either the District or Piccadilly.
Earl's Court tube has two exits. If you come out onto Warwick Road Earl's Court Exhibition centre will be towering up in front of you. You need to turn left, then after 400 yards or so left again at the traffic lights into the Old Brompton Road. The Troubadour will be on your right after 100 yards. If you come out onto the Earl's Court Road you'll see a busy shopping street. Turn right, then after 500 yards right into the Old Brompton Road. The Troubadour will be on your left just after you pass the junction with Coleherne Road.
The Old Brompton Road is served by the 74 between Putney and Baker's Street, the C1 between Shepherds Bush & Victoria (via High St Kensington and Knightsbridge) and the 430 between Roehampton and South Kensington. In addition the 328 passes close by on either Earls Court Road or Warwick Road between Chelsea (Limerston Street) & Golders Green & the C3 between Clapham Junction and Clapham Junction (via Cromwell Road).
The venue is well served by night busses with the N31, N74 & N97 all stopping on both the Earls Court Road and the Warwick Road.
The Troubador is situated in the western marches of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, so unless you have an RBKC parking permit parking isn't that easy. But there are some pay and display spaces in Coleherne Road and along the Old Brompton Road. You may also be able to park in The Earls Court Car Park in Seagrove Road.
The venue is situated just outside the London congestion zone |
